Pashupatinath (the temple with an idol of lord Shiva from silver age)

PASHUPATINATH~

The holy place belongings to the God of all the hindu Gods Lord Shiva. The most notable place even inscribed in the hindu puranas worldwide with high values. The temple that all the hindus desired to visit once in their lifetime.

From my childhood I've heard a story from my grandparents that once a herdsman was on so delimna that one of his cow was not giving milk eventhough the cow was healthy  he was so curious to know what's going on? So one day as usual he took all of his cows to gaze on but put his eyes on the same cow to know what is actually going wrong with the cow? after some time he saw the cow going straight inside the woods he followed it wherever it goes by making a distance. Suddenly the cow stopped, she poured all her milk on the ground and returned back. This situation continued the cow goes alone to the jungle stop at same place and pour all her milk in the ground. the herdsman told the incident to his friends. They dig the place to know what's inside that place where they found the idol of lord Shiva. That was the idol of pashupatinath which was not created by any craftsman.

Among so many beliefs, this is one of the story that I listened from my grandparents which my grandparents had heared from their grandparents.

The beda and puranas of hinduism worldwide has described a lot of about the place and the idol of lord Shiva. Not only inside Nepal people all over the world following hinduism regard This place as a most sacred one.

As inscribed in puranas at silver age; one day Lord Shiva got vanished from Kailash. Time passed on but he didn't return back nor he gave any sign of his appearance in this whole universe. All the gods made a search for him. They searched him everywhere but couldn't find him allthough keepgoing when they are flying over the forest of sleshmantaka they saw a Beautiful deer different than other deers in it's group with a glowing figure having a single horn on it's head. It's so lovely that gods were astonished by it's beauty and couldn't stop themselves to catch the deer. The deer was so fast that they couldn't even touch it. By seeing this god Brahma,  Bishnu & Indra surrounded the deer and grabbed it. When they grabbed the deer the deer disappeared all three of them were catching only the horn of a deer. They wondered what's going on?

Suddenly there comes a voice of Lord Shiva from heaven saying that the deer was himself and the horn they have got is a part of his body. He suggested them to place the horn over there where he had roamed in a form of deer as a symbol of him, making it available to all living creatures that will guide to demolish the ignorance showing virtuous path.

So Brahma and Bishnu transformed the horn in the shape of an idol of lord Shiva shaped like a phallus and established there.

As one era ended with a dooms day the idol of lord Shiva concealed within the earth. By the revolution of next era it arised again to enlighten the world.

According to beda and puranas It's the same idol of lord Shiva from silver age which is named as pashupatinath in this iron age. It is also described as the head part of Kedareshor (one of the India's main holiest temple of lord Shiva) in indian puranas.
